The Treasurer and Comptroller's Revolutionary War Final Settlements consist of records relating to the settlement of approximately six hundred outstanding claims against the state by individual soldiers for their Revolutionary War service pay. Folders frequently concern more than one soldier, and may include affidavits, depositions, and certifications concerning military service; furlough and discharge papers; powers of attorney; assignments of interest; certifications concerning letters of administration on the estates of deceased soldiers; and accounts of final settlements.
For more information about the Final Settlements and a list of the names of soldiers represented in the collection, see the guide to the Treasurer and Comptroller's Papers.
